When several settings and layout choices change at once, a better-looking sample does not explain why it improved. Before preparing the next sample, write one sentence naming the variable you intend to review.

That variable might be artwork scale, placement, surface preparation, or another documented setup choice. Keep the remaining recorded conditions as consistent as practical, label the sample, and photograph it beside the previous one.
