Save the decision, not every draft
A repeat-order reference folder helps a small shop find the last approved wording, layout, and customer notes without guessing which old file was the final choice. It is a simple record-keeping method that can reduce avoidable back-and-forth.
Create one folder per customer or order family. Keep the approved proof, source artwork, job note, and a photo of the selected blank together. Name files with a date and plain-language descriptor so they can be found without opening each version.
Ask before assuming a repeat
Even when an earlier order is available, show the saved proof before treating it as a new approval. Customers may want a different date, message, or placement. The folder should make a new conversation faster, not replace it.
