Build a Reversible Sample Card for New Materials

A useful sample card should make it easy to repeat a review and easy to reject an assumption. Put the material identity, source, date, artwork version, workflow reference, and observed result on the card. Leave a clear space for later corrections.

Photograph the sample under consistent light and retain an untreated reference when practical. If the material identity or safe-use information is uncertain, stop and resolve that uncertainty before testing.
