A short review routine can catch more problems than repeatedly zooming in on a finished design. Before an engraving session, separate the review into content, placement, and process passes.
Pass one: read the content as a customer
Check spelling, dates, initials, and the order of names. Hide guides and decorative layers for a moment so the personalized information is easy to read. If another person approved the artwork, preserve that approved version instead of editing the only copy.
Pass two: inspect placement
Mark the intended viewing direction and identify the visual center of the object. Compare the artwork boundary with the current preview or positioning guidance. A screen preview is a planning aid, not proof that every surface will produce the same result.
Pass three: confirm the process
Use a suitable test piece when possible, confirm the current material guidance, and keep the work area controlled. Plan ventilation, shielding, appropriate protective equipment, attended operation, and a clear stop procedure before starting.
Save one useful record
Keep the approved artwork, a note about orientation, and a photo of the finished test together. This makes the next review faster without turning one result into a guarantee for a different material or finish.
