A clear work area at the end of a session is more than tidiness. It helps the next operator see whether a fixture, sample, scrap, or note belongs to an active job instead of guessing from whatever was left behind.

Use a fixed closing order

Follow the current shutdown guidance first. Then remove completed work and permitted waste according to the workshop's procedures, return tools to assigned locations, and keep unresolved items in a clearly labeled holding area. Do not leave an unidentified object in the working zone.

Record exceptions

If something must remain for inspection or maintenance, attach the job identifier, status, responsible person, and next action. A photo of the final area can support a shared-workshop handoff, but it does not replace physical inspection or required supervision.

Make the next start deliberate

The next operator should still perform the full pre-use check and consult current guidance. A clean closing record cannot confirm that the equipment, ventilation, enclosure, material, or setup is ready for another task.
