A customer file can arrive as a screenshot, a small logo or a photograph of handwriting. Before quoting the work as if the design is ready, identify what the file actually contains and what still needs a decision.

Ask for a usable source and permission

Record the file type, visible detail and whether the customer can provide a better source. Ask them to confirm they have permission to use any supplied mark or artwork. If text must be recreated, show that recreation as a new proof rather than silently presenting it as the original file.

Separate artwork preparation from the customer's final approval. That distinction helps a shop explain what it has reviewed and what is still open.

Keep the promise narrow

A usable source file does not guarantee a result on a chosen blank. Material suitability, safe setup and the final design require their own review. For an AntBelt G1 workflow, retain the source, permissions note and approved proof together. The hero is an illustrative project image.
