A useful sample photograph should lead back to the exact physical piece it depicts. Give every specimen a simple identifier before building a library of AntBelt G1 project notes.
Link the record without changing the test
Place an identifier card beside the specimen for documentation, outside any processing setup. Save the same identifier in the image filename and sample record. Avoid placing an unapproved adhesive, label, or ink on a surface that may later be processed.
Record the material description supplied with the blank, its source, the artwork revision, and the observation being recorded. If an identifying detail is unknown, write unknown rather than completing it from appearance.
Preserve the chain when files move
After copying photos into a presentation or shared folder, check that at least one view retains the identifier. A tightly cropped detail can travel with a companion overview instead of losing its connection to the specimen.
Retain the physical sample when practical and record where it is stored. If it is discarded or changed, update the record so another person does not expect an unchanged reference. A traceable photo supports comparison of that specimen; it does not turn one visible result into a compatibility, durability, or repeatability guarantee.
