A control photo gives a sample note a stable reference point. Use the same general viewing setup for a before-and-after pair when practical, and record what changed between the images. The photo supports observation; it does not guarantee a result on every blank.
Separate what you saw from what you assume
Write visible details in one field and open questions in another. That small split makes later tests easier to plan and keeps early sample language conservative.
