Give the eye a reference point

Place an unmarked blank beside the sample before taking a comparison photo. The pair can make differences in surface, color, or readability easier to discuss without overstating what one attempt proves.

Use the same light and viewing angle for both objects when possible. If the setup changes, put that change in the note. This is a review method, not a statement of material compatibility or a finished result.

Save both the image and the question

File the pair with the question it was meant to explore. A later reviewer can then understand the purpose of the sample instead of guessing from the picture. More conservative sample-planning ideas are available in /updates/.
