An object delivered to a workbench has not automatically been cleared for engraving. Give incoming objects a separate intake location so arrival cannot be mistaken for permission to start a job.

Make the intake state visible

Attach a job reference and record what is known about the object's material and surface. Keep unreviewed objects outside the active work area. A customer's familiar product name is not enough to resolve an unknown coating or unsupported material.

Review the object against the applicable AntBelt G1 material and setup guidance before scheduling work. If required information is missing, mark the job on hold with the unresolved question. Keep that state visible to anyone who could otherwise move the object into the active queue.

Transfer the record with the object

When a job is cleared through the normal review process, move its identified record with it. Confirm the approved artwork and current operating instructions before beginning. This organizational step supplements the required protection, shielding, ventilation and attended operation; it does not replace them. If an operator cannot establish the material or the required setup, the object should remain out of the active queue until the uncertainty is resolved.
