Put the customer-supplied name, date, or short phrase in a separate order field before it enters the artwork. That distinction makes it easier to compare the request against the proof and avoids treating a copied message as a design decision.
Review the handoff in two passes
First confirm the requested wording against the order record. Then review placement, line breaks, and spelling in the proof. A small shop can save both versions together with a clear order label, giving the next reviewer a useful trail without claiming the design has been produced.
For more order-review practices, browse /updates/ before sharing the next proof.
