A cylindrical sample can look different as it turns, so one front-facing photograph may hide where the artwork begins, ends, or moves out of view. Before reviewing a sample, place a removable label that identifies the intended viewing face.
Photograph that face, then add side views that show how the design sits on the curved object. Record the blank identity and surface condition, and keep the observations tied to that specific sample. Do not generalize one visible result into a guarantee for a material category or object shape.
