A sample photo becomes more useful when it includes a small reference card with the date, material description, and artwork version. That card helps a maker distinguish what is visible in the image from what still needs to be tested or confirmed.
Record what the photo cannot settle
Take one clear overall view and, if helpful, a close view of the relevant area. Note lighting conditions and any unknowns that the camera cannot answer. Avoid treating one image as a material guarantee or a repeatable result.
Keep the unedited reference image with its observation note. Presentation photos can be created later, but they should not replace the record of what was actually reviewed.
