A close-up can make fine detail look impressive while hiding its actual scale. Add a neutral scale reference so reviewers can interpret the sample without guessing.
Keep the reference outside the artwork
Place a ruler or documented reference card beside the sample after the process is complete. Keep it on the same plane as the surface and photograph both in focus. Do not digitally resize the reference independently from the sample.
Pair close and context views
Capture one close view for line quality and one wider view for overall placement. Use consistent lighting and label the material source and visible finish. Describe only what the photographed sample shows.
The image does not establish repeatability, material compatibility, or guaranteed minimum detail. Those questions require controlled testing and current official guidance.
