Make comparisons easier to trust
Photographing early samples in the same location and under the same light makes it easier to compare visible changes without mistaking a lighting shift for a material result. A photo record documents what was seen in that moment; it does not guarantee results on another object or batch.
Use a clean, neutral background and place a small label beside each sample. Capture one wider view for context and one closer view for detail. Keep the camera angle similar so edges, contrast, and surface character are easier to compare later.
Add a plain note beside each image
Record the material description supplied with the blank, the artwork version, the date, and anything unusual noticed during setup. If a result needs another attempt, write that down too. Honest sample notes are more useful than a gallery that only shows the strongest image.
