Two blanks that share a product label can still arrive with different color, texture, coating, or surface condition. Photograph each unmarked sample next to its identifier before testing so the starting condition remains part of the record.
Use the same neutral background when practical and avoid treating one image as proof of broad material performance. The goal is traceability: connect a visible starting sample to the notes and result that follow.
