A front zone gives cylindrical artwork one clear viewing priority. Mark the area that should face the viewer first, then place names, icons, or short messages in relation to that zone.
Start with a paper planning wrap
Use a removable paper wrap to mark the visual front, seam or interruption areas, and the direction in which the object will be viewed. Keep the plan descriptive rather than dimensional until the actual object and current setup guidance are available.

Review at more than one angle
Turn the wrapped object by hand and photograph the front plus both neighboring views. Check whether important letterforms disappear too quickly around the curve. If so, adjust the composition on the paper plan before preparing a laser test.
This process does not predict a finished result. It makes the intended viewing direction visible and gives the next review a shared reference.
