A date such as 03/04 can represent different days to different customers. Resolve the intended meaning before turning a customer's message into artwork for a personalized gift.
Ask for meaning before choosing a style
Write the proposed date with the month spelled out in the approval proof. If the customer prefers a numeric design, show that numeric version alongside its written meaning. Keep the year visible when it belongs in the requested inscription.
The approval should identify the exact artwork version and the date it represents. A general reply such as “looks good” can be difficult to interpret when several alternatives appear in the same conversation. Present one clearly labeled final candidate for the customer to review.
Carry the approved string into the job record
Copy the approved inscription into the production record and compare it with the artwork character by character. If the customer later requests a different display format, issue a revised proof even when the underlying date stays the same.
