Small artwork can look centered on screen while still feeling unbalanced on the physical blank. An edge-balance scan gives makers a plain way to review the space around a design before starting a sample.
Mark or photograph the top, bottom, left, and right boundaries, then compare the visible margins. If one side feels crowded, adjust the layout and label the revised file instead of relying on memory.
This is a placement habit, not a shortcut around material checks, ventilation, shielding, protective equipment, or attended operation. The blank and setup still need their own review.
