A broad logo sample may look acceptable while its smallest text remains hard to read. Add a separate text test that includes the narrowest strokes, tightest spacing, and smallest characters proposed for the job.
Judge readability at normal viewing distance
Inspect the sample without relying only on a magnified photo. Check open counters, close letter pairs, and punctuation. If a detail is ambiguous, revise the artwork and test again rather than treating it as a machine guarantee.
Preserve the rejected version
Label both the earlier and revised samples so the reason for the change remains visible. Record only what the specific sample demonstrates under its documented conditions. Material batches, coatings, artwork, and setup can affect later results.
