A customer can approve a layout and then correct one letter. Treat that correction as a new revision so the original approval cannot accidentally authorize the changed artwork.
Preserve the before and after
Retain the previously approved preview and create a new revision with the exact requested change. Put a short change note beside it, such as surname spelling corrected or date format changed. Avoid overwriting the only approved file.
Send the revised preview through your normal approval process before production. An informal message containing a replacement word may leave placement, capitalization, or line breaks unresolved. The customer should see the complete revised design in context.
Stop the old revision from returning
Move superseded production files out of the active job folder while preserving them in the order record. At handoff, identify the one revision permitted for the next step and check that its preview matches the file being opened.
