Custom-order messages often mix spelling, placement, finish, and deadline questions in one paragraph. Before preparing artwork, turn the request into a short checklist: exact text, approved orientation, chosen blank, reference image, and the point at which the buyer will review.

Keep the checklist tied to the order identifier rather than relying on memory. If an answer remains uncertain, mark it as open instead of filling the gap with an assumption. This is especially useful when more than one person handles customer communication and production preparation.

The checklist is a handoff tool, not proof that a particular material or result is guaranteed. Explore other small-shop workflow ideas at /updates/.
