Start with the view that matters
Before positioning a small mark, draw one reading line that represents how the object will normally be viewed. This simple reference helps a maker decide whether a name, icon, or date belongs above, below, or centered on the visible area. It is a planning step, not a guarantee that every blank or design will look the same.
Keep the first layout modest. A short mark with clear margins often gives more useful feedback than a dense design. Save a preview image with the reading line visible, then remove the guide before preparing the final artwork.
Review the mark at normal distance
Look at the preview at a normal viewing distance rather than only at a zoomed-in screen. If the mark feels too close to an edge, change the placement before proceeding. Keep a note of the version you reviewed so a later revision can be traced back to a clear decision.
