A tiny registration cross can make a placement test easier to review. Put it outside the finished artwork area, then use it to discuss where the design sits relative to the blank rather than relying on memory.
Keep the mark separate from the design
Create the cross on a disposable setup layer or a separate reference sheet. Label the artwork revision and note which edge of the blank is the visual top. The reference should help with alignment without becoming part of the approved design.
Before any laser work, confirm the material, current operating guidance, shielding, ventilation, and attended-operation procedure. A layout reference is not a substitute for a safe setup or a material test.
Photograph the relationship
Take one overhead photo that shows the reference, blank, and artwork orientation together. If the placement changes, create a new photo instead of overwriting the earlier one. This produces a short visual history that another person can follow.
