Do not rely on the center view alone
A centered photo can hide the area that needs the most review. Add one edge photo to every flat sample record so the reader can see how the design approaches the boundary and whether the framing needs another pass.
Use consistent lighting and label the sample before drawing conclusions. The photo documents one observation; it does not prove a material guarantee or final operating outcome.
Compare like with like
When a second sample is made, place the edge views beside each other with their dates and questions. That keeps the review focused on evidence instead of memory. See /updates/ for more cautious sample notes.
