Ask a narrow question

Record one observation such as edge clarity, contrast, or an area that needs another look. A narrow note is more useful than turning a single sample into a broad claim about a material.

Keep the unknowns in the record

Add what was not checked beside what was seen, and retain the photo with the note. This helps the next review distinguish a visible observation from an assumption. More sample-recording ideas are in /updates/.
